Bocchi had just completed a textbook-perfect battle, defeating his opponent.
Seeing this fearsome creature, as notorious as the Thousand-Toothed Sandfish, lying defeated at his feet, Bocchi felt a surreal sense of disbelief.
Just a few days ago, he couldn't even manage reconnaissance properly, and today, he had single-handedly taken down the Giant Claw King.
It was the first time he had ever hunted such a heavyweight creature since becoming a hunter.
Bocchi stood in place, stunned for a moment, before jumping down from the Giant Claw King’s back.
But before he and Ma Lu could celebrate their successful hunt, a noise in the distance caught their attention.
A group of motorcycles was rapidly approaching them!
The riders were clearly not friendly; without a word, they encircled the two of them and the Giant Claw King lying on the ground.
Before these people could complete the encirclement, Ma Lu discreetly grabbed a Flame Gecko he had just found and held it in his hand.
“Which hunting group are you from, and why are you stealing our prey?”
After everyone arrived, a bald man questioned them, his tone aggressive.
Bocchi felt puzzled by the accusation but kept his composure. “I am Bocchi, captain of the Double Sunflower Hunting Group. Where is your prey?”
“You little brat, are you playing dumb?” Another person jumped off a motorcycle, pulling down her face covering, revealing a woman with a wolf head tattoo on her neck.
She pointed at the Giant Claw King behind Bocchi and Ma Lu. “That’s our prey.”
“How do you plan to prove that?”
“Why bother talking with them?” someone said impatiently. “Just beat them up and make them leave!”
The bald man gestured for his subordinates to calm down and then said to Bocchi, “Isn’t the Giant Claw King behind you missing a pincer?”
Bocchi was momentarily stunned. He had noticed during the earlier encounter that the Giant Claw King had only used one pincer throughout the fight. When he pulled it out from the sand, it was indeed missing one pincer.
“We’ve been tracking it for over a week and have fought it several times. Its right pincer was cut off by us, but each time it was in danger, it would burrow underground. Fortunately, we had already installed a tracking device on it.”
The bald man continued, “If you don’t believe me, check the second leg on its left side.”
Following his words, Bocchi inspected the spot and found a tracker still blinking red amidst the fur.
The woman with the wolf tattoo sneered, “See? This Giant Claw King must have been exhausted from us chasing it, which is why it fell here and let you two take advantage.”
Bocchi frowned. “Maybe you did encounter this Giant Claw King before, but we were the ones who killed it. When we fought it, it was still in good shape. According to the Hunter’s Code, this Giant Claw King should belong to us…”
He didn’t get to finish before being interrupted.
“You two, hunting the Giant Claw King?”
The eight people on the opposite side laughed as if they’d heard the funniest thing. “Hahaha, if you’re going to lie, at least make it believable. You don’t even have a thermal cutting saw—how did you break through this thing’s shell?”
“Captain, I told you not to waste time with them. Just give them a good beating, and they’ll behave.”
A young man with a skull decal on his motorcycle was already cracking his knuckles, ready to pounce on Bocchi and Ma Lu at the bald man’s command.
However, despite his fierce appearance, the bald man was quite meticulous, searching his mind for any information related to the Double Sunflower Hunting Group.
As his sister, no one knew the bald man better than the woman with the wolf tattoo. When she first heard Bocchi’s name, it sounded familiar.
She stared at Bocchi for a while, suddenly remembering something, and blurted out, “It’s you, Li’s…”
“Yes.” Bocchi picked up where she left off. “But I’ve left the Harpist and formed the Double Sunflower Hunting Group.”
The mention of the Harpist made the bald man’s expression tense. No matter how bad the group’s current situation was, it had once been one of the three great hunting groups of The Giant Screen, with many legendary accomplishments to its name.
Captain Li was an idol to countless young hunters.
Unfortunately, Li died a few years ago, and the Harpist had been declining ever since... As for Double Sunflower, the bald man had never even heard of it.
Judging by Bocchi’s words, it seemed like it was just recently established, which explained why his hunting squad only had two members. Venturing into the Level 2 Hunting Zone with such a small team showed considerable guts.
Now that the bald man had figured out who they were dealing with, he felt at ease and spoke again.
“I won’t bully you. Just leave the Giant Claw King, and I’ll let you go.”
The young man with the skull on his motorcycle wasn’t happy with this decision.
“Captain, we can’t let this slide today. We need to teach them a lesson. If word gets out, more people will think our hunting group is easy to bully.”
His suggestion was met with approval from several others. “Exactly! A newly established hunting group dares to challenge us? If we let them off lightly, how can we hold our heads high at The Giant Screen?”
Someone, moving swiftly, had already reached Bocchi’s motorcycle and grabbed one of the hanging bags, opening it.
“Tsk, Horn-Bellied Black Speed Snake, nothing special.”
“Oh, there’s a Short-Eared Link Hedgehog here, not bad.”
Meanwhile, a female hunter exclaimed with delight, “Come here, come here... These bags are full of Vampiric Long-Tailed Weasels—there are over a dozen of them. Altogether, they could sell for around 4,000 energy units.”
Hearing the female hunter’s words, a greedy look flashed across the bald man’s face. “In that case, leave these too, as the price for your wrongdoing.”
Bocchi squinted his eyes. “Are you planning to rob us outright?”
“So what if we are?” The young man with the skull on his motorcycle sneered. “You can go report us to the guild. But how do you plan to prove that you hunted these things?”
Bocchi didn’t respond; he merely exchanged a glance with Ma Lu.
The next moment, Bocchi lunged forward, throwing a punch straight at the young man’s face!
The young man had not expected Bocchi to make a move in front of so many people, catching him completely off guard. More importantly, Bocchi’s speed was much faster than he had anticipated.
It felt like he was facing not a human but a cheetah!
He didn’t have time to dodge and took the punch squarely on the face.
That single punch shattered his nose, and blood gushed out like water from a turned-on faucet.
Ma Lu estimated that this punch must have triggered the bleeding effect of 【Bleeding Out】.
The sudden punch stunned everyone else.
Only Bocchi didn’t stop; after knocking out the young man, he immediately targeted his next opponent.
A hothead? The bald man was still wondering where Bocchi got the nerve to start a fight, but by then, another one of his men was already down.
The bald man quickly realized something was wrong. What kind of monster was this, with such speed and strength?!
After taking down the Vampiric Long-Tailed Weasel swarm, even without triggering any effects, Bocchi’s basic four-dimensional attribute boosts had reached 102%, 91%, 93%, and 120%.
These were beyond human limits.
In the blink of an eye, Bocchi also knocked down the woman with the wolf head tattoo on her neck. She didn’t even have time to use her Psychic Ability.
By this time, the others had finally reacted. Six fist-sized fireballs were hurled toward Bocchi.
Three of them were blocked by thumb-sized blood shields, and Bocchi easily sidestepped the remaining three.
His gaze then locked onto the person who cast the fireballs—the same female hunter who had discovered the Vampiric Long-Tailed Weasels on his motorcycle. Feeling Bocchi’s intense stare, she became inexplicably flustered and miscast her spell.
Just as Bocchi was about to reach her, a chain of yellow sand suddenly coiled around Bocchi’s right leg.
