Infinite Cosmic Cafeteria Chapter 78: Unleashing Power

The Double Sunflower hunting group and Wang Zhen’s team gathered together, each mounting their motorcycles.

Bocchi and Senqi took the lead at the front of the convoy, while four hunters were selected from Wang Zhen’s side to spearhead the group.

Ma Lu and Mai Mai remained in the middle of the team, casually blending in, while Hook and Mei Meilu stayed close to Ma Lu, their expressions anxious. Setta and three other hunters were in charge of guarding the rear.

Once ready, the dozen or so motorcycles began their journey toward The Giant Screen.

The noise from so many people moving together was bound to be loud, and as soon as they emerged from behind the sand dunes, they immediately attracted the attention of nearby beasts.

However, those who had survived the beast tide and made it this far were no pushovers. The beasts were taken down before they could even approach the convoy.

But as they got closer to The Giant Screen, the pressure began to mount.

The sheer number of beasts overwhelmed the hunters on the perimeter, and some slipped into the convoy amidst the chaos. Some were killed by the motorcycles, but others seized the opportunity to pounce on the riders.

One unlucky soul had his leg bitten by a Two-Headed Jackal and was dragged screaming off his motorcycle.

His companion wanted to stop and help but heard Wang Zhen shout, “Don’t get off! Speed through this area; if we get surrounded, we’re in big trouble!”

The man hesitated for a moment but eventually gritted his teeth and accelerated.

Ma Lu noticed that Mai Mai had quietly drawn her small crossbow, and Hook had unsheathed the mechanical sword on his back, shielding Mei Meilu behind him. He drove with one hand while wielding his sword with the other, fending off nearby beasts.

Ma Lu considered taking out his own crossbow to fire a few shots but thought better of it when he remembered his terrible aim.

Even with no blessings, he couldn’t hit stationary targets on flat ground; hitting a moving target while on the move was out of the question.

Missing the target would be the least of his worries—if he accidentally hit someone, that would be a disaster.

Still, seeing so many beasts made Ma Lu’s eyes light up. Normally, these creatures were scattered throughout the desert and rarely gathered in one place. If he could unleash an electric field here, the blessings would surely pile up!

But Ma Lu glanced ahead and decided to hold off for now since there were clearly more beasts in front. Saving his ultimate move could better handle unexpected situations.

The convoy continued forward, now less than a kilometer away from The Giant Screen, but the motorcycles began to slow down.

There was no choice; the road ahead was almost blocked. Smaller beasts like Two-Headed Jackals and Horn-Bellied Black Speed Snake were easy enough to deal with. As long as they didn’t bite at the right moment, they couldn’t stop the convoy.

If they dared to block the way, the hunters simply ran them over.

However, larger beasts like Stone-Skinned Rhino and Scythe-Horn Antelope were a different story, each weighing over 300 pounds. These creatures couldn’t be ignored.

The Scythe-Horn Antelopes, in particular, were nearly as fast as the motorcycles and had incredible jumping ability, capable of leaping three meters high.

Ma Lu saw one Scythe-Horn Antelope jump out of the beast crowd and land squarely on a motorcycle, crushing the rider’s chest.

As for the Stone-Skinned Rhinos, they moved much slower, but as their name suggested, their rock-like skin made them formidable roadblocks, forcing the convoy to detour around them.

This allowed the beasts they had previously shaken off to catch up.

Luckily, there were hunters in the convoy who acted quickly, using the yellow sand to form rows of spikes that blocked the pursuing beasts.

However, more Scythe-Horn Antelopes charged toward the convoy, their scythe-like horns gleaming menacingly in the sunlight.

The hunters at the front instinctively slowed down, but Mai Mai, originally in the middle of the group, twisted the throttle harder.

“I’ll clear the way!”

With that, she surged ahead of everyone else.

A Grey-Spotted Leopard lurking among the beasts had been eyeing her for a while, but it hadn’t found the right moment to strike—until now, when Mai Mai willingly separated from the group, creating the perfect opportunity.

It also accelerated, powerfully kicking off the ground and leaping forward as a blur, lunging at Mai Mai from the side!

The image of its prey enlarged in its narrow pupils as the distance between them rapidly closed.

The Grey-Spotted Leopard’s fangs were just about to sink into its target’s throat.

In the next instant, blue electrical arcs suddenly erupted from Mai Mai’s body.

Her pupils, eyebrows, and mouth were all enveloped in electricity, turning her into a little blue figure.

Countless currents eagerly climbed over her body!

However, this scene didn’t last long, as the electricity then spread outwards.

Neither the Scythe-Horn Antelopes ahead nor the relentless Two-Headed Jackals chasing the convoy managed to escape this wave of electric shock.

But the one hit hardest was the Grey-Spotted Leopard in midair; it hadn’t even landed before it began emitting the smell of burnt flesh.

This time, Mai Mai used up all the stored electricity from the battery on her motorcycle, discharging nearly ten seconds of electricity, clearing nearly all enemies within a twenty-meter radius.

Then, she slumped forward, about to crash to the ground.

But before she could hit the dirt, Bocchi, who had rushed in from behind, caught her and placed her on his rear seat.

“You’ve done enough. Leave the rest to us,” Bocchi said.

The sight left the other hunters in the team stunned, and Hook and Mei Meilu were left gaping.

Though the young bodyguard had been closely following the Double Sunflower hunting group, he hadn’t noticed anything particularly extraordinary about Ma Lu and Mai Mai.

In the face of the surrounding beast attacks, they seemed no different from other ordinary hunters—no, they were even less impressive than the average hunter.

Mai Mai only sporadically used her small crossbow, and Ma Lu hadn’t even drawn his weapon; he was just focused on dodging on his motorcycle.

When targeted by beasts, he would lead them into crowded areas before quietly slipping away, leaving Hook frowning in doubt, wondering if he had placed his trust in the wrong people.

But then, the seemingly passive Mai Mai stepped up in a critical moment, transforming into a lightning storm and carving a path through the sea of beasts, saving everyone!

All of Hook’s doubts vanished instantly. At that moment, he just wanted to stay as close as possible to these powerful allies.

Turning around, however, he saw that Ma Lu had already jumped off his motorcycle and was calling to Setta behind him, “Give me a ride!”

After saying that, he hopped onto Setta’s motorcycle and began tapping and pointing intently at the air in front of him.

Whenever the team fought, blessings would appear.

Mai Mai’s recent surge had wiped out dozens of beasts in one go, and at the same time, Ma Lu was hit with a barrage of notifications.

These blessings had arrived at just the right moment, perfectly suited to further enhance the team, significantly boosting their survival and combat capabilities.

But there was a catch—they had to be chosen within sixty seconds, and under these circumstances, Ma Lu couldn’t afford to be distracted by driving.
